Client Contract
This agreement outlines how we will work together, so we both have a clear understanding of what to expect during our counselling sessions.
Confidentiality
Everything we discuss in our sessions together is confidential. I will only break confidentiality if:
· Required to do so by law.
· I believe you or someone else is at risk of serious harm.
· I discuss anonymised material in professional supervision*
*My supervisor is bound by the same confidentiality requirements.
GDPR & Record-Keeping
I keep brief anonymised notes and basic contact details (name, address, GP) for safety reasons. Any data that I hold is securely stored in accordance with GDPR (2018). Records are destroyed within seven years of counselling coming to an end. Please see my Privacy Notice for further details.
Sessions & Fees
Each session lasts 50 minutes and are usually weekly, but we can agree on fortnightly or another schedule that supports your needs.
We may work on a time-limited basis (a set number of sessions) or open-ended.
The fee is £60 per session, payable on the day of the session by bank transfer.
Cancellation Policy
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange, otherwise the full session fee will be charged.
If I need to cancel, I will give as much notice as possible and offer an alternative time. For planned holidays, I will give at least two weeks’ notice.
Endings
Endings will be discussed and agreed together. If I believe it is in your best interests to end counselling, I will discuss this with you and signpost alternative support if needed.
Complaints
If you have concerns about our work together, please raise them with me directly so we can address them.
If you wish to take the matter further, you can contact my professional body, the BACP, who have a formal complaints procedure: www.bacp.co.uk.
