Who I Am & How I Work
Based in Perthshire, Scotland, I am a pluralistic and trauma-informed counsellor offering online therapy for adults across the UK. Being pluralistic means I draw on different approaches to suit each person I work with, because no single way of working is right for everyone.
I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to offer a supportive, respectful space where we can explore what’s going on for you and what might help. I work in a collaborative way, tailoring our sessions to your needs and preferences.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in healthcare and education, supporting people through both practical and personal challenges. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of how life’s pressures can affect our wellbeing. I bring this perspective to my counselling work, offering empathy, understanding, and a safe space for you to talk.
I’m particularly experienced in supporting grief, anxiety, low mood, and the challenges of student life and life transitions, as well as issues such as low self-esteem, burnout, identity exploration, and feeling stuck.
My Qualifications & Experience
I’m a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), with an MSc in Counselling and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. I’ve also completed ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) to support people in crisis.
Alongside my private practice, I’ve worked with Cruse Scotland, offering bereavement support, and as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor, helping university students manage the challenges of academic life alongside mental health concerns. These experiences have strengthened my ability to listen without judgement and to support people through life’s most difficult moments.
